ahrefs is also an online backlinks analysis tool, it is considered a direct competitor of Majestic SEO. It offers a free exploration version of your links. Once the URL or a domain is entered in the search bar of the tool, all backlinks found by the tool are displayed and many visualisation enables to see the evolution of your website links.

Then find out the number of links pointing to your website, the most popular pages, domains referents, the anchors. ahref is a recent tool but has developed very quickly in the market. The data are well organised and presented graphically.

Google Search Console is an online set of tools developed by Google for websites owners. It is one of the best way to understand how your website is seen and indexed by the search engine, but it can also be used to determine the inbound links to it (backlinks).

In the “search traffic” tab you can retrieve part of the links indexed and known by Google. Therefore, you can be aware of the website that recommends, as well as the pages to which you have most links.

Google Analytics is a free online service for analysing your website audience. For the backlinks tracking, it is not a big help because it only supplies the report of website referents. However, this report gives a list of the websites that allow you to generate traffic. This means, they provides links to it.

So which netlinking strategy?

The question comes up regularly in the consultant and SEO consulting agency world. Google is not a fan of the creation of “manuals” links that modify or attempt to influence the natural ranking algorithms results. Like all strategies, it’s all about moderation! Beware of inbound links to your website and websites profils that recommend you and above all consider creating content that will be recommended naturally.
